As first it is neccessary to say that Colorado is really hot this season. They are at the top of NHL and goalie Craig Anderson is excellent. He started all twelve games and he is still under 2,00GAA. But more and more players are becominig injured or tired after this kind of physical style.
Like i was saying in other previews that huge percentage when team is playing day-by-day is defeated second day, Colorado in all three situations like this has won. But they are keeping well other stats when teams are in situation day-by-day -- lower number of total goals. When they were last time in situation to play two game in two days, Detroit overplayed and overshooted Colorado, but Craig Anderson won that game with fantastic saves.
Calgary is 4th in Western Conference and if they would keep this position they need to win, because San Jose and Los Angeles will meet as well tonight. Calgary met only six teams in ten games. They already beat Edmonton three times, Vancouver twice and with Columbus they are 1-1 this season. They added 16 goals in last three games (all at home).
There should be home win today, but Calgary do not like that much physical and agressive forchecking from opposite site. Then they are very often nervous and higher number of penalty minutes is added on both sides. Then those stats are really important. Calgary is the best team in powerplays this season with 32,3% (Colorado 9th with 25,5%). Colorado is 5th best in penalty killing with 85,2%, while Calgary is 21st with only 76,2%. And even more both team have scored shorthanded goals (Bourque and Glencross vs. Jones).
Because of huge percentage of losses by teams playing day-by-day and Colorado haven't loss yet i would bet on Calgary win tonight with 1,95 at Expekt (7/10).
Under 5,5 total goals is still valuable odd 2,15 at Bwin (6/10).
There should be game of Miikka Kiprusoff today. Home team has to be very carefull about Milan Hejduk's line and avoid penalties. And more thing to say that Calgary home games are still with 100% attendance. |
